 Medical Association Communications (MAC) was established in 1981 to be responsive to the special needs of New Mexico's medical community.  It was founded by members of the Greater Albuquerque Medical Association (GAMA).

As of June 2003, MAC had over two hundred accounts, representing four hundred sixty-five doctors in Bernalillo, Santa Fe, Sandoval and Valencia Counties.

MAC is directed by a board of doctors, many of whom are also subscribers.  This increases accountability and ensures quality of service.

Recently our entire computer system was replaced with new equipment. It utilizes advanced technology. Reliability has been greatly increased by many automated features.

Examples of these features include notifying our staff of failed faxes or pages as well as giving operators instructions at the exact time they are needed. These increase operator efficiency and reduce the likelihood of errors.

Our company is HIPAA compliant, and your information is always secure. Data is saved and kept in case you require this documentation for future use and, like most of our other features, there is no charge for message research and data storage.

Calls are taken by operators who handle and deliver calls based on your individual instructions. We design each account to meet the specific needs of the practice.

New fiber optic lines and caller ID provide greater clarity to our callers and operators, making human error in taking data much less likely.

We have included both battery backup and an engine generator; in the case of a power outage we can provide our own power for unlimited time.

Our primary fiber optic telephone lines are backed up with hard wire lines in the unlikely event of an outage.

Since we were designed to operate every day of the year, twenty-four hours a day, we do not have hidden charges for night calls or holidays.

You have the option of faxing on-call schedules months ahead of time, allowing data to be entered into the system before your office checks out for the evening.

There is no charge to patch calls or to page calls. If you prefer we will fax your messages, at no cost to you. There is no charge for hang-ups, wrong numbers or time spent on the line with your office, including checkout and check-in calls. 

We have nationwide toll-free lines, with no hook up fees.

Choose wisely:

Don’t pay extra for necessary and usual options.

Never select a service that excuses unprofessional operators and poor service.

Auto Check-In. This feature allows you to retrieve your messages without going through an operator, but with the option of speaking with an operator.

Pre-Screened/Operator Assist Services. With this optional, no charge service, calls are answered on the first ring with your personalized greeting; after hearing your information, the caller can leave a voice message or speak with an operator.
