Greater Albuquerque Medical Association
The Greater Albuquerque Medical Association is dedicated to protecting the privacy of personal or account information provided to us in the normal course of conducting business and providing services.
Information such as member or account profile information [name, address, telephone and fax numbers, email address, medical license number, specialty, medical school, year of graduation, faculty affiliation and other information] for our database is collected. Such membership and account information is to facilitate GAMA-to-member and member-to-member communications.
GAMA uses email addresses to distribute our newsletter, event notices, and legislative updates as well as other in-house electronic mailings. Email addresses are not shared with or sold to third parties.
How we protect and store personal information
Throughout this policy, we use the term “personal information” to describe information that can be associated with a specific member or a specific account and can be used to identify that member or account. We do not consider personal information to include information that has been made anonymous so that it does not identify a specific user.
We store and process your personal information on our secure database in Albuquerque, New Mexico where our offices are located. We protect your information using physical, technical, and administrative security measures to reduce the risks of loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure and alteration. Some of the safeguards we use are firewalls and data encryption, physical access controls to our data centers, and information access authorization controls.

GAMA strives to keep your personal information accurately recorded. We have implemented technology, management processes and policies to help maintain data accuracy. GAMA provides individuals with reasonable ability to review and correct it or ask for anonymity, blockage, or deletion, as applicable.

GAMA takes seriously the trust you place in us. To prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, to maintain data accuracy, and to ensure the appropriate use of the information, we utilize reasonable and appropriate physical, technical, and administrative procedures to safeguard the information we collect and process. GAMA retains data only that has a legitimate business purpose as required or permitted by law.
When collecting or transferring sensitive information such as credit card information we use a variety of additional security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. The personal information you provide us is stored on computer systems located in controlled facilities which have limited access. When we transmit highly confidential information (such as credit card number or password) over the internet, we protect it through the use of encryption.
Credit card numbers are used only for processing payments and are not used for other purposes.
Changes to This Statement
If we modify our Privacy Statement, we will post the revised statement here, with an updated revision date. If we make significant changes to our Statement that materially alter our privacy practices, we may also notify you by other means, such as sending an email or posting a notice on our corporate website and/or social media pages prior to the changes taking effect.
GAMA Refund and Cancellation Policy
GAMA does not refund membership dues or account payments or other online payments for events, products, or services except in the case of duplicate payments. GAMA reserves the right to cancel a membership or an account. No refunds will be provided.
